In 2023 the International Learning Collaborative is holding our live annual international conference at The University of Southern Maine and we look to welcoming our global community of academics, researchers, clinicians and policy makers and working together to help evolve and revolutionise the global Fundamentals of Care landscape.
The ILC 2023 Annual International Conference with be hosted by long-standing ILC Steering Committee Member and champion for Fundamental Care around the globe, Dr Devin Carr, Chief Nursing Officer from Maine Medical Centre in Portland, Maine, United States.
In Portland, Maine you’ll find a hub with cobblestone streets, local shops, and scenic working waterfront views. But never far away are charming area towns bringing beaches, lighthouses, world-class eats + arts, outdoor adventures, and shopping destinations just a short drive from downtown.

University of Southern Maine Portland campus is located at 96 Falmouth Street, Portland, ME 04103.
From the south
Take the Maine Turnpike (I-95) to Exit 44 (South Portland/Downtown Portland). Follow I-295 to Exit 6B, Forest Avenue North. At the first traffic light, turn left onto Bedford Street. Enter the University’s parking garage by taking the second left onto Surrenden Street, immediately after the Alumni Skywalk.
From the north
Take the Maine Turnpike to Exit 47, Rand Road/Westbrook. Exit right onto ME-25/Rand Road and follow ME-25 E for 3 miles. At the six-way intersection by the Portland campus, bear slightly left onto Bedford Street. Enter the University’s parking garage by taking a right onto Surrenden Street, immediately before the Alumni Skywalk.
