Individual Membership Annual Fees
The Management Committee has recommended that the annual Membership Fee for individuals will remain unchanged at $AUD150 ($AUD75 for students). The vote will be a Yes or No option.

Organisation Membership Annual Fees
The Management Committee has recommended a new way to place a financial value on membership for organisations. Currently, organisations that wish to join the ILC are asked to identify the number of people who they wish to receive benefits of ILC Membership. The Organisation Membership fee is then calculated by multiplying the individual fee of $AUD150, with discounts applied depending on the numbers being registered. For example 20 people would cost an organisation $AUD3,000. This model is not able to be scaled up for large numbers of people in an organisation. As the ILC develops more sophisticated Member-only tools and resources, organisations will want to make them available to potentially hundreds of staff. A new way of pricing organisation membership needs to enable the benefits to be broadly accessed within an organisation.

Some associations like the ILC, ask bigger organisations to pay more, but this model also has drawbacks and sometimes stops big organisations like large hospitals or universities from joining due to high fees. The new method of setting membership fees for organisations will have levels of membership starting from “basic” and moving up eventually to the top level of “platinum”. At the basic level, organisations would pay a flat fee and be able to register as many people as they wish to receive ILC Membership benefits.

ILC Members will be asked to vote on this new “Basic Organisation Membership” annual fee, which moves away from a “volume” approach to a “value” approach, where different levels of membership reflect the greater value derived from that level.

The new method of setting membership fees for organisations will have levels of membership starting from “basic” and moving up eventually to the top level of “platinum”. At the basic level, organisations would pay a flat fee and be able to register more people than the multiple of $150/person would imply i.e. 33 people. The number of people who would be covered is yet to be determined and likely to be part of a negotiation process.

Basic Organisation Membership will provide access to all the benefits that individuals are currently able to access, such as discounts to events, the right to vote and to nominate to serve on the ILC governing structures. Value and pricing for higher organisation membership levels will be developed and explained over the next few months, but may include some free tickets to events, and access to advisory and consultancy services by Fundamentals of Care experts.
