The conference will take place at the iconic Musikkens Hus in Aalborg, bringing together international delegates in a world-class venue.

Advancing Person-centred Fundamental Care: Collaborative Action for Impact and Influence

The 2027 ILC Conference in Aalborg, Denmark will explore how we can advance person-centred fundamental care through collaboration, collective action and a shared commitment to change. Building on the momentum of past ILC conferences, the program will move beyond identifying what matters in fundamental care to exploring how we can translate knowledge, ambition and evidence into meaningful and sustainable impact. The conference will bring together researchers, educators, clinicians, leaders, policymakers and people with lived experience to examine the pathways through which change can be generated. At its heart, the conference is about connecting ideas with action: strengthening our collective capability to lead change, generate knowledge, shape systems and ultimately influence the future of person-centred fundamental care.

An expanded conference experience in 2027

Based on feedback from previous conferences, we’re expanding the conference experience to 2.5 days, giving you more opportunities to learn, connect and collaborate with colleagues from around the world.

The experience begins on 14 June with an afternoon of optional pre-conference workshops, followed by our welcome drinks and networking event that evening — a great opportunity to meet fellow delegates and start the conference together.

The main conference takes place on 15 & 16 June, with an inspiring programme focused on advancing person-centred fundamental care and turning collaboration into meaningful action and impact.

You can choose to attend the conference or the workshops but we recommend attending both for the full experience.

Pre-conference workshops – 14 June
Choose from three optional interactive workshops focused on Clinical Practice, Research or Education, running from 2–5pm at an additional fee.

Welcome & networking event – 14 June
Join us from 5–7pm the evening before the conference to collect your badge, enjoy a drink and connect with fellow delegates.

2 Day Conference Program – 15 & 16 June
The main conference takes place on 15 & 16 June, with an inspiring programme focused on advancing person-centred fundamental care and turning collaboration into meaningful action and impact.

WORKSHOPS

You may choose also register for one of the 3 pre-conference workshops at an additional fee if you have not already done so. The workshops will be held from 2pm-5pm on the 14th of June.

CLINICAL PRACTICE WORKSHOP: Building the Relationship – How engagement with patients, clients, carers and family enhances therapeutic outcomes and experiences

RESEARCH WORKSHOP: Monitoring, evaluating and researching the impact of positive relationships to enable quality, safe and effective care delivery

EDUCATION WORKSHOP: Teaching Relationship-Building to Develop a Workforce Delivering Effective Person-Centred Fundamental Care
