Join us on the afternoon before the ILC Conference for an engaging, practical workshop designed to explore the Fundamentals of Care in an Education setting.

These limited-capacity workshops offer an opportunity to go deeper into key themes of person-centred fundamental care through interactive discussion, practical activities and shared experiences.

The conference & pre-conference workshops will take place at the iconic Musikkens Hus in Aalborg, bringing together international delegates in a world-class venue.

How do we teach the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to build meaningful therapeutic relationships and deliver person-centred fundamental care?

This interactive workshop will explore practical approaches to teaching relationship-building, trust and therapeutic communication, and integrating these into everyday fundamental care. Through scenarios, role play, case studies and debriefing, participants will explore how to move beyond teaching the “how” of care to understanding and communicating the “why” — connecting clinical tasks with the person’s experience, preferences, values and therapeutic outcomes.

Designed for educators working across academic and clinical settings, the workshop will provide practical strategies that can be applied in teaching and practice, helping learners recognise, articulate and put into action the relational and clinical thinking that underpin high-quality fundamental care.
